According to market sources, billet prices in the local Turkish market have remained unchanged compared to last week in the range of $530-540/mt ex-works. Market sources state that Turkish buyers have started to prefer CIS and Chinese billet offers, which have become more plentiful amid their increasing attractiveness. Accordingly, demand for domestic billet in the local Turkish market has decreased.

On the other hand, CIS producers have decreased their billet prices by $10/mt over the past week in order to be able to compete with very attractive ex-China billet offers. For the current week, CIS billet offers to Turkey are in the range of $515-525 CFR, while an ex-CIS billet deal to Bartın in Turkey was heard last week at $520/mt CFR. Meanwhile, Chinese billet offers to Turkey have decreased by $15/mt over the past week and are currently in the range of $480-490/mt CFR.
