During the week ending February 15, Chinese export offer prices for rebar and wire rod have increased. At present, boron-added rebar offers to Southeast Asia given by Chinese suppliers are at $465-470/mt FOB, while boron-added wire rod offers from Chinese suppliers to the same destination are at $475-485/mt FOB.

During the given week, with strong support from domestic rebar and wire rod prices, rebar and wire rod export offer prices from China have increased significantly. Meanwhile, speculative activity has resumed in the rebar and wire rod market in China due to the sharp increase in ferrous metal futures prices recently, and this has also exerted a positive impact on rebar and wire rod export offer prices. It is thought that Chinese export offer prices for rebar and wire rod will likely continue their upward trend in the coming week.
