During the week ending April 26, Chinese export offer prices for rebar and wire rod have indicated a slight downtrend. At present, boron-added rebar offers to Southeast Asia given by Chinese suppliers are at $430-440/mt FOB, while boron-added wire rod offers from Chinese suppliers to the same destination are at $435-445/mt FOB.

During the given week, with the downward movement of domestic finished steel prices having lost momentum and with rebounds starting to be observed in domestic prices of finished steel, semi-finished steel and steel futures, rebar and wire rod export offer prices from China have edged down just slightly. Amid increased support from domestic steel prices, it is thought that Chinese rebar and wire rod export offer prices will likely move sideways in the coming week, though slight upticks may also be possible depending on changes in demand volumes.
