During the week ending December 28, Chinese export offer prices for rebar and wire rod have decreased. At present, boron-added rebar offers to Southeast Asia given by Chinese suppliers are at $445-455/mt FOB, while boron-added wire rod offers from Chinese suppliers to the same destination are at $460-470/mt FOB.

During the given week, China's domestic rebar and wire rod prices have indicated significant downward movement, dragging down rebar and wire rod export offer prices. Chinese steelmakers have also lowered their export offer prices in response to slack domestic sales. It is thought that Chinese export offer prices for rebar and wire rod will likely continue their downward trend in the coming week.
