During the week ending September 7, Chinese export offer prices for rebar and wire rod have continued to move on a stable trend. At present, boron-added rebar offers to Southeast Asia given by Chinese suppliers are at $360-370/mt FOB, while boron-added wire rod offers from Chinese suppliers to the same destination are at $380-390/mt FOB.

During the given week, Chinese steelmakers and traders have mostly been maintaining a wait-and-see stance, resulting in the stable trend of export offer prices for rebar and wire rod. However, the downtrend in rebar futures prices in China will likely exert a negative impact on rebar and wire rod prices in the spot market. It is thought that Chinese export offer prices for rebar and wire rod will soften in the coming week.
