Due to adverse weather conditions and low demand rebar quotations had recently trended downward in the Bulgarian long steel market. However at the start of this week rebar prices have increased by BGN 10/mt ($7/mt) as compared to the previous week and are currently standing at BGN 1,000-1,010/mt ($680-687/mt) CPT, on actual weight basis and excluding 20 percent VAT.
While construction projects and transportation had been affected negatively by recent bad weather conditions in the country, heavy vehicles have again started to be seen on the roads in line with the relative improvement in the weather and so rebar demand has started to revive in the Bulgarian long steel market.
