Bulgarian rebar and merchant bar prices decline on dollar basis

This week's Bulgarian domestic market has not witnessed any changes in rebar prices on local currency basis, with prices still standing at BGN 1,030-1,040/mt ($677-684/mt) CPT on actual weight basis, exclusive of 20 percent VAT. However, due to the depreciation of the Bulgarian lev against the US dollar, rebar prices on dollar basis have dropped by about $5/mt since last week.
 
The Bulgarian domestic rebar market has not witnessed any changes in demand despite the depressed global economy.
 
On the other hand, prices in the Bulgarian domestic merchant bar market have remained unchanged as compared to last week, standing at BGN 1,180-1,190/mt ($776-783/mt) CPT for angles and BGN 1,250-1,260/mt ($822-829/mt) CPT for flat bars, both on actual weight basis and exclusive of 20 percent VAT. Merchant bar prices on US dollar basis have declined by about $5-6/mt since last week.
