Buyers in the local Turkish rebar market have stepped up their inquiries in line with the price rises seen in the domestic rebar market. However, today, April 25, the first day of the current week, no improvement has been recorded in the volume of transactions and actual demand is still at low levels. Following deals concluded on Friday, April 22, both import billet and scrap prices increased in Turkey, impacting prices in the local Turkish rebar market and causing them to rise further. Given the lack of any sign of a softening of domestic rebar quotations, market sources believe that buyers who have been postponing their rebar purchases for a long time may resume their purchasing activities in the coming days amid the steady uptrend of domestic rebar prices.
