Uncertainties arising from the current political climate and harsh weather conditions have resulted in stagnancy in terms of buying activity in the Israeli long steel market. However, domestic rebar prices have indicated an increase of $5-10/mt since last week and are now standing at $735-745/mt delivered to customers and excluding 16 percent VAT.

Meanwhile, Turkish rebar offers to the country are currently at $630-635/mt CFR, indicating an increase of $5-10/mt over the same period. In addition, ex-Turkey mesh quality wire rod offers to Israel are still standing at $630-635/mt CFR, though these offers have failed to gain acceptance from local buyers and instead Ukrainian mesh quality wire rod offers at $620/mt CFR are being preferred.
