Billet prices for rebar production in the local Italian market are currently at around €400/mt ($543/mt) delivered to rolling mill in northern Italy on open account basis, excluding VAT.

The domestic billet market in Italy is not very active. Even one billet sale was reported to have been concluded at €390/mt ($530/mt), delivered to rolling mill from Germany to northern Italy. However, the higher billet offers from Turkey and the CIS may revive the billet market. Furthermore, there will be an increase in domestic billet demand due to the new rolling capacities.
