Billet prices in the Turkish domestic market have softened. The ongoing declines in import billet prices have caused Turkish mills to revise their prices downward. Accordingly, billet prices in the domestic market have decreased by $10/mt since yesterday, April 9 to $550-555/mt ex-works, while ex-CIS billet offers are now at $515-525/mt FOB, declining by $5/mt over the same period.
Meanwhile, a steelmaker in the Iskenderun region has concluded a deal for 10,000 mt of billet from the local market at the level of $550/mt ex-works.
