Billet price uncertainty impacts Turkish merchant bar exports

According to market sources, in the last two weeks prices of Turkish merchant bar exports have remained unchanged at the levels in the chart below. However, market sources state that merchant bar suppliers are concerned over the lack of clarity surrounding billet prices, while buyers have also started to share their concerns, causing demand to soften slightly. Meanwhile, market sources confirm that Turkish producers have concluded merchant bar deals to markets in West Africa, North Africa and the Middle East.
