According to sources close to SteelOrbis, Argentinian domestic rebar prices have remained stable on limited domestic investment and higher production costs. Price increased in February along with raw material prices and energy cost, but since then domestic rebar prices have remained relatively stagnant as the country is faced with limited domestic investment in construction projects.

The 8mm-12mm rebar continues to be offered at $755-770/mt and $805-810/mt on 6mm rebar, all prices delivered. Although raw material prices have fluctuated in the last few months and are now facing a downward trend, sources state that domestic mills are not expected to adjust prices downward in the near future. Import competition is primarily from Brazil and the lack of domestic investment in construction projects is limiting import purchases.
