On June 4, Hubei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Corporation (WISCO) announced its ex-factory flat steel prices for July, raising the prices of most products. The details are as follows:
1. HR coils
Prices have increased RMB 260/mt ($38/mt). After the changes, the price of 2.75 mm Q235 HRC is at RMB 3,560/mt ($522/mt), while that of 5.5 mm Q235 HRC is at RMB 3,500/mt ($513/mt).
2. Medium plate
Prices are up by RMB 230/mt ($34/mt), with the new price of 14-20 mm Q235 medium plate at RMB 3,428/mt ($503/mt).
3. CR coils
Prices have increased RMB 360/mt ($53/mt). Thus, the price of 1.0 mm Q195 CR sheet is at RMB 4,370/mt ($641/mt), while the price of 1.0 mm Q195 cold rolled coil is now at RMB 4,320/mt ($633/mt).
4. Galvanized coils
Prices have increased by RMB 330/mt ($48/mt). As a result, the new price of 1.0 mm DX51D+Z is RMB 4,623/mt ($678/mt).
5. Color coated
June prices are still in effect, with the ex-factory prices staying at RMB 5,435/mt ($797/mt).
6. Silicon steel
Prices of non-oriented silicon steel have seen a rise of RMB 200/mt ($29/mt).
All the above prices exclude 17 percent VAT and are effective as of June 4, 2009.
