Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Co. (WISCO) has issued its steel product prices for January shipment. The prices are as follows (comparisons being with December prices):
1. Hot rolled (HR)
The prices of ordinary coil steel products varying in specification have risen by RMB 20-60/mt ($3-9/mt). As a result, the ex-work prices of 3.0 mm x 1,250 mm x C SPHC grade hot rolled coil (HRC) and 5.5 mm x 1,500 mm x C Q235 grade HRC respectively stand at RMB 3,890/mt ($614/mt) and RMB 3,870/mt ($611/mt).
2. Cold rolled (CR)
The prices of ordinary coil steel products varying in specification have increased by RMB 20-40/mt ($3-6/mt). Thus, the new price of 1.0 mm Q195 grade cold rolled steel is currently at RMB 4,540/mt ($717/mt), while the price of 1.0 mm x 1,250 mm x C Q195 grade cold rolled coil (CRC) stands at RMB 4,540/mt ($717/mt), both ex-works.
3. Rolled plate
All prices have increased by RMB 30/mt ($4/mt). Accordingly, the ex-works price of 20 mm Q235 grade plate stands at RMB 4,480/mt ($707/mt).
4. Hot dip galvanized (HDG)
All prices have decreased by RMB 133/mt ($21/mt). Currently, the price of 1.0 mm DX51D+Z grade galvanized coil stands at RMB 4,700/mt ($742/mt) ex-works.
5. Pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI)
All prices have been reduced by RMB 215/mt ($33/mt). Currently, 0.45 mm TDC51D+Z grade PPGI is priced at RMB 5,960/mt ($941/mt) ex-works.
All the above prices exclude 17 percent VAT and are effective as of December 16, 2011.
