The most commonly heard offer price to US-based traders for imported 0.012”x40.875” G30 hot dipped galvanized (HDG) coil, and 0.019x41.5625 Gr80/AZ55 Galvalume coil has remained steady since our last report a week ago, when US-based traders indicated a belief that prices from Korea and Taiwan could tick upward should mills’ input costs increase after the close of the Chinese new year.
Sources close to SteelOrbis, however, have confirmed that HRC prices in Southeast Asia have softened. As such, it is not currently believed that Korean and Taiwanese mills will revise offer prices upward.
Offer prices for 0.019x41.5625 Gr80/AZ55 Galvalume coil in the US domestic market from Korea and Taiwan have remained at $52-$53 cwt. ($1146-$1168/mt or $1040-$1060/nt), DDP loaded truck in US Gulf coast ports.
Offer prices for Brazilian 0.019x41.5625 Gr80/AZ55 Galvalume coil in the US domestic market have also remained stable, at $50-$51 cwt. ($1102-$1124/mt or $1000-$1020/nt), DDP loaded truck in US Gulf coast ports.
The most commonly heard offer price for 0.012”x40.875” G30 coil in the US domestic market from Pakistan and the UAE remains at $47-$48 cwt. ($1036-$1058/mt or $940-$960/nt), DDP loaded truck in US Gulf coast ports.
A number of US-based buyers say they are still wary about booking imports due to concerns over what the Trump administration may decide in terms of tariff policies.
