Prices in the local Turkish plate spot market, where demand has remained poor, have been trending sideways over the past two weeks. Meanwhile, market players state that, while demand has remained weak for a long time now, the overall demand recovery seen in the second quarter this year for other flat steel products may impact plate trading activity as well.

SteelOrbis has learned that traders' prices for stock material St37 grade steel plate in Turkey's Gebze and Eregli regions are as follows:

Thickness x width

Price ($/mt)

Gebze

Eregli

4-12 mm x 1,500 mm

590-595

12-20 mm x 1,500 mm

595-600

15-40 mm x 1,500 mm

605-610

585-595

15-40 mm x 2,000 mm

The above prices are ex-warehouse and for advance payments, exclusive of 18 percent VAT.
