According to market sources, demand for hot dip galvanized (HDG) products in the local Turkish market is still weak. Market sources state that HDG buyers have been postponing their purchases amid ongoing political and economic uncertainty in Turkey and due to declines seen in global flat steel market.

In the Turkish domestic market, HDG sales prices have remained unchanged over the past week for October production and are currently as follows:

Product

Price ($/mt)

HDG   0.50 mm  100gr/m²

580-620

HDG   1 mm  100gr/m²

540-560

HDG   2 mm  100gr/m²

520-530

The above prices, which may differ depending on product quality, are ex-works, exclude VAT, and are for advance payments
.

Meanwhile, demand for Turkish HDG in the foreign markets is also sluggish. Turkish producers' HDG offers to the export markets have also remained unchanged over the past week, remaining in the range of $570-620/mt FOB, for October production. Market players state that buyers have made HDG bookings only to meet their immediate needs in the same period.
