In the Vietnamese flat steel market, where demand remains on the weak side, buyers have shown little interest in concluding deals at high prices, as Chinese origin products at lower prices have started to flow into stocks. Meanwhile, flat steel prices in the domestic market have increased by $10/mt since last week.
Hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in the Vietnamese domestic market are at $560-565/mt ex-warehouse, while cold rolled coil (CRC) prices stand at $680-685/mt ex-works. Meanwhile, rerolling quality HRC of 2 mm thickness are now being quoted at $570-575/mt ex-warehouse.
On the import side, Chinese HRC offers to Vietnam are now at $560-570/mt CFR, indicating an increase of $20-28/mt week on week, though only a small volume of deals has been concluded. In the meantime, offers for rerolling quality HRC of 2 mm thickness from China have moved up by $10-15/mt to $585-595/mt CFR, while offers from Japan are at $610-615/mt CFR, increasing by $20-25/mt since last week. In addition, South Korean offers are now at $620/mt CFR, indicating an increase of $40-45/mt.
