US import tons for hot dipped galvanized sheet and strip coil continue to trend high, with many saying that inventory overhang compounded with less-than-exciting order activity are still the Achilles heel of the market.  According to Sept. 25 data from the US Department of Commerce,  September import tonnages are reported at 191,025 mt (license data), with the most significant offshore source of import HDG coil being Korea, at 36,013 mt (license data).  Brazilian import tons of US import HDG coil were reported at 31,604 mt (license data), although it is still too soon to tell whether Brazilian import tons will surpass their Korean counterparts.
