US mills announce flat rolled steel price increases

AMUSA has announced they will be implementing the following minimum base prices for US hot rolled coil, cold rolled coil and hot dipped galvanized coil, effective with all new orders:

Hot rolled coil: $30.00 cwt. ($661/mt or $600/nt)
Cold rolled coil: $41.00 cwt. ($904/mt or $820/nt)
Hot dipped galvanized coil: $41.00 cwt. ($904/mt or $820/nt)
Galvalume coil: $41.00 cwt. ($904/mt or $820/nt)

The mill further stated that the new pricing is applicable to all new orders and recent quotations that have not been accepted and acknowledged with an ArcelorMittal or AM/NS Calvert Order Acknowledgement.

Meanwhile, Nucor Sheet Mill Group today announced they will increase base prices on new orders of hot rolled coil, cold rolled coil and hot dipped galvanized coil by a minimum of $2.00 cwt. ($44/mt or $40/nt), effective immediately.  Nucor further stated they reserve the right to review and re-quote any offers that have not been confirmed with a Nucor sales acknowledgement or written acceptance by both parties.
