It’s been quite a few weeks since rumors of a trade case against offshore producers of US import hot dipped galvanized (HDG) have rumbled loudly, and as it stands, that chatter has fallen to a “low rumble” at best. Trader sources say they’re less concerned about booking tons from Chinese and Indian mills, and as it stands, things have pretty much settled back into “business as usual” mode. Order activity and inquiries remain on par with where things were seven days ago, with sources close to SteelOrbis saying that in the absence of a case actually being filed, the market is expected to trend at relative status quo.
