Pricing, order activity and inquiries within the US domestic hot dipped galvanized (HDG) market have remained lateral since our last report a week ago, with the most commonly reported spot price transaction range still holding in the approximate range of $37.00-$39.00 cwt. ($816-$860/mt or $840-$860/nt) ex-Midwest mill.
According to SteelOrbis sources, the previously seen downtrend seems to have officially tapered off and the few-and-far-between deals that are out there are only being granted to the largest customers who are willing to book hefty orders. For now, the market is expected to continue its sideways trend throughout the rest of July, with little, if any changes taking place.
