US domestic cold rolled coil (CRC) prices remained unchanged this week from last week, when prices softened by a modest $0.50 cwt. ($11/mt or $10/nt) ex-mill.
Offers can still be found in the general range of approximately $38.00-$39.00 cwt. ($838-$860/mt or $760-$780/nt) ex-mill. One factor in dormant offer prices is the inclement weather in most of North America, which dramatically slowed business this week from mills to buyers and end-users.
In addition, import pricing to the US also remained unchanged this week, but offers are expected to shift in the next few days. Indian offers are expected to increase pricing by $0.50 to $1.00 cwt. Sources are already uncertain how much of that projected increase will stick--for now, Indian offers stand at $35.50-$36.50 cwt. ($783-$805/mt or $710-$730/nt) DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports. Chinese offers also remained at stable in the last week, at $33.50-$34.50 cwt. ($739-761/mt or $670-$690/nt) DDP loaded truck into US Gulf ports.
