Turkish producers’ HDG prices continue to move up

In the past week, demand in the local Turkish hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil market has remained at low levels since buyers have continued to maintain a wait-and-see stance amid the ongoing economic and political uncertainties in the country. However, Turkish producers’ HDG prices have increased by $20/mt on the upper end against the backdrop of the rises seen last week in domestic prices of hot rolled coil (HRC) - the raw material for HDG production.

Domestic producers’ HDG prices in the local Turkish market are currently as follows:

Product

Price ($/mt)

Change ($/mt)

HDG   0.50 mm  100gr/m²

700-750

↑20 from the upper end

HDG   1 mm  100gr/m²

640-680

↑20 from the upper end

HDG   2 mm  100gr/m²

605-650

       ↑20 from the upper end

Meanwhile, overseas buyers of Turkish HDG exports are still only concluding bookings to meet their immediate needs, while Turkish producers’ HDG offers to the export markets have remained stable week on week at $680-710/mt FOB.
