During the past week, buyers in the local Turkish pre-painted galvanized (PPGI) coil market have postponed their purchases ahead of the end-of-Ramadan holiday and demand has remained sluggish. However, Turkish domestic PPGI producers have increased their prices by an average of $25/mt week on week, supported by the uptrend of Chinese raw material and finished steel prices.

Accordingly, RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI prices increased to $990-1,025/mt, the price of RAL 9002 0.5 mm moved up to $840-850/mt and the price of 1 mm RAL 9002 increased to $730-765/mt. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.

Meanwhile, price inquiries for Turkish PPGI in the export markets increased following the upward trend of Chinese raw material and finished steel prices, while buyers have preferred to stand back and observe the global market. As a result, demand for Turkish PPGI in the export markets is still weak and quotations have remained unchanged week on week at $795-825/mt FOB.
