Turkish pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) producers have announced a rise of $10-15/mt in their domestic prices but, just as in the local hot rolled galvanized (HDG) market, the producers' new prices have not been reflected in actual local market transaction prices yet. Meanwhile, demand has continued to improve in the domestic market.
Turkish mills' local offers for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI are standing at $1,005-1,080/mt, while offers for RAL 9002 0.5 mm are at $865-925 /mt and prices for RAL 9002 1 mm stand at $785-845/mt. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.
In the meantime, May production ex-Turkey PPGI offers have remained unchanged since last week and are still at $850-920/mt FOB. Demand in the PPGI export market has also continued to improve. The price increases already recorded in the domestic market have not been reflected in the target export markets due to the lower offers from China and India.
