According to market sources, prices in the local pre-painted galvanized (PPGI) coil market in Turkey have remained stable over the past week, while demand has continued to be characterized by weakness. Turkish buyers are expected to make PPGI purchases in the coming days, since hot rolled coil prices have switched to a sideways trend and as PPGI inventory levels are low on the traders' side. Currently, Turkish mills' local prices for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI are at $835-860/mt, while offers for RAL 9002 0.5 mm are at $720-755/mt and prices for 1 mm RAL 9002 are at $655-690/mt, all moving sideways compared to last week. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis, exclude 18 percent VAT, and are for May production.

On the other hand, in the latest deals concluded, Turkish PPGI export transaction prices have decreased by $10/mt week on week on the lower end to $700-750/mt FOB, while demand is slightly lower as compared to last week, but remains at medium levels. Turkish PPGI sellers state that they have to give discounts in order to conclude deals in the export markets, as they are under pressure from the low PPGI offers from China and Europe
