During the past week, demand has remained weak in the local Turkish cold rolled coil (CRC) market due to economic and political uncertainty in Turkey. Despite the increase in HRC prices, CRC prices have moved sideways compared to the previous week because of weak demand and the softening of scrap and iron ore prices. However, discounts up to $10/mt are heard during actual purchases depending on the volume.
In the meantime, Turkish steel producers’ CRC prices for their domestic market have moved sideways in the range of $650-670/mt ex-works.
Turkish traders’ CRC prices in the local Turkish spot market have remained unchanged week on week and are as follows:
Product | Price ($/mt) | |
Eregli | Gebze | |
0.6 mm CRC | 700-710 | 710-730 |
0.7-2 mm CRC | 670-680 | 680-700 |
