New import flat steel offers to Turkey had started to gain clarity by late last week, while it is observed that new offers indicate an upward tendency. Flat steel demand in the local market is weak and sources state that interest in import offers is also on the low side. However, Turkish buyers are waiting for all new import offers to gain clarity before concluding any new transactions.
In the meantime, the flat steel offers for Turkey which have already been announced are as follows: Ukrainian hot rolled coil (HRC) offers for Turkey are now at $560/mt CFR, indicating an increase of $10-15/mt over the past month, ex-Russia HRC offers have moved up by $15-20/mt to $595-610/mt CFR, while ex-Russia cold rolled coil (CRC) offers stand at $710-725/mt CFR, increasing by $15-20/mt over the same period.
In the meantime, the most recent offers of some sources that have not yet announced their new offers are as follows: ex-Romania HRC offer were in the range of $565-575/mt CFR, while Romanian CRC offers were standing at $680-690/mt CFR. In addition, Slovakian HRC offers to Turkey were at $560-565/mt CFR, while the latest ex-Italy offers for HRC could be found at €495-505/mt ($678-692/mt) CFR.
