Foreign steelmakers have been leaving the Turkish flat steel import market to prepare new offer levels. Meanwhile, flat steel demand in Turkey has been focusing on domestic production as import offer prices have been found to be on the high side. The number of flat steel import transactions in February was lower than in previous months.

Some foreign mills are no longer giving offers to Turkey, but the latest prices are as follows: ex-Romania hot rolled coil (HRC) offers to Turkey are at $630-640/mt CFR, while Ukrainian offers to Turkey stand at $590-595/mt CFR. Meanwhile, ex-Russia HRC offers can be found at $620-640/mt CFR and Slovakian HRC prices for Turkey are at $620-630/mt CFR.

On the other hand, Ukrainian cold rolled coil (CRC) offers to Turkey are at the level of $670-675/mt CFR, while Russian CRC offers are ranging at $700-730/mt CFR. In addition, Romanian CRC offers are at $725-730/mt CFR.
