The general situation in Turkey's flats import markets has not seen much change over the past week. Flat rolled prices have continued to maintain their decreasing trend in the domestic market, while the levels of import offers are also still declining.
Offers from the Ukrainian mill Ilyich for HRC are standing in the range of $575-580/mt FOB. HRC offers from Ukrainian traders to Turkey are ranging at levels of $600-630/mt CFR Turkey, while it is heard that last week one trader in Ukraine offered HRC at $550/mt CFR Turkey. Although, the Russian mills have not issued any official announcement for the current month, it is heard that offers from Russia are below the level of $700/mt CFR Turkey.
On the other hand, the plate market currently does not differ much from the HRC market. Offers from Ilyich for shipbuilding plate are standing at $950/mt FOB. In addition, common plate offers from Ukraine to Turkey are at the level of $950/mt. Donetsk has offered common plate at $800/mt CFR Turkey. Meanwhile, plate prices have decreased to the level of $800/mt in Turkey's domestic market.
Against the background of the overall weak demand seen in the domestic market, Turkey's HDG market is showing a downward trend. 0.5 mm 100 gr Z HDG prices are ranging at levels of $1,250-1,300/mt in the domestic market, whereas it is heard that stockists have been offering HDG at below these levels, at around $1,000/mt.
