Following some transactions concluded in the export markets this week, demand for Turkish origin flat steel products has gained strength, while ex-Turkey flat steel offers have maintained their advantage, owing to their short lead times. Meanwhile, on the back of higher offer prices from the CIS and the Far East and uncertainty regarding to the case of Italian steel producer Ilva, Turkish origin flat steel offers in the export markets have started to attract demand and most Turkish steelmakers have already filled up their order books for April production.

Ex-Turkey hot rolled coil (HRC) offers are still at $620-630/mt FOB, while cold rolled coil (CRC) offers stand at $720-730/mt FOB, both unchanged as compared to last week. Turkish offers in the export market are expected to maintain their sideways price trend in order to attract the interest of foreign buyers.
