During the week ending February 23, average Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices have continued their rising trend, while overall transaction activity in the market has improved and is now at medium levels. Average HDG prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, against the backdrop of the overall rising trend of domestic prices of semi-finished and finished steel, including hot rolled coil (HRC) and cold rolled coil (CRC), Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices have continued their upward trend. Meanwhile, with market demand improving, transaction activities have been better than in the previous week. However, ferrous metal futures prices in China have moved on a soft trend recently, though this has so far had a limited impact on Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices. It is expected that HDG prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely move sideways in the coming week.
