Tight liquidity and slack demand in Chinese domestic HDG market

During the week ending March 26, Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices have followed a slight uptrend, while transaction activity has been slack. Average HDG prices in the local Chinese market can be viewed in the SteelOrbis price reports section.

During the given week, HRC prices in the Chinese domestic market have indicated a rising trend, which has provided some support for HDG prices. However, HDG traders state that demand has remained sluggish amid tight liquidity. Meanwhile, end-users have only concluded limited purchases. It is expected that HDG prices in the Chinese domestic market will move on a stable trend in the coming week.
