During the given week, supplies in the domestic steel plate spot market have been on the short side, which has provided a certain degree of support for steel plate prices. Ferrous metal product futures prices have indicated sharp declines today, July 18, which will likely exert a negative influence on sentiment in the steel plate market. Domestic semi-finished steel prices have started to decline, which will also negatively affect steel plate prices. Meanwhile, due to recent good levels of profitability on the steelmakers' side, they will likely increase production capacity utilization rates, which will result in downward pressure from supply. It is thought that steel plate prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely move on a soft trend in the coming week.
