Stable prices in Turkish flat steel export market

This week, coated steel demand in the Turkish export markets has remained moderate, while export demand for other flat steel products is slack. As local traders have concluded spot purchases, domestic steel mills' outputs have started to increase. Meanwhile, recently concluded high volume pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) transactions in the export market have resulted in a lengthening of lead times for these products in the local market. While hot rolled coil (HRC) and cold rolled coil (CRC) export offers are available, the demand situation for these products in the domestic market seems positive and so domestic producers are giving priority to the local market.

In the meantime, Turkey's HRC export offers are still standing at $610-620/mt FOB, hot dip galvanized (HDG) export offers are at $810-820/mt ex-works and PPGI offers are at $920-940/mt ex-works.
