SSAB raises US plate prices $40/nt

In a letter to customers Friday, SSAB Americas announced that it is raising the transaction price for all non-contract as-rolled carbon and high-strength low alloy plate, cut-to-length plate greater than 72 inches wide and hot rolled coil greater than 72 inches wide by a minimum of $2.00 cwt. ($44/mt or $40/nt).

SSAB Americas said that it is also raising the transaction price on all non-contract normalized plate products by a minimum of $3.75 cwt. ($75/nt or $83/mt) and alloy discrete plate, including Quenched and Tempered, by a minimum of $2.00 cwt.

The announcement applies to all new and existing orders acknowledged for the ship week of April 29, 2012 and beyond.
