SSAB Americas announces price increase on plate and HRC

On December 2, SSAB Americas issued a price increase raising the transaction price for all non-contract carbon and high strength low alloy plate, alloy discrete plate including Quenched and Tempered, cut-to-length plate > 72" wide, and hot rolled coil > 72" wide by a minimum of $2.50 cwt. ($55/mt or $50/nt).

The announcement applies to all new or existing orders acknowledged for the ship week of January 30, 2011 and beyond. The increase is in addition to SSAB's November 11, 2010 announcement regarding a January increase.

The announcement indicated that the increase applies to the above products made at SSAB's two US steel mills as well as product from its three coil processing lines.
