Sluggish downstream demand in local Chinese HDG market

During the week ending July 24, Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices have been almost stable, with just some very slight downticks seen, while transaction activity has remained at low levels. Average HDG prices in the local Chinese market can be viewed in the SteelOrbis price reports section.

During the given week, some local HDG traders have chosen to lower their sales prices slightly amid sluggish demand from downstream industries, though price reductions have not been very effective at stimulating sales. In addition, HDG prices are unlikely to decrease much further as they are already considered to be close to bottom levels. It is thought that HDG prices in the Chinese domestic market may see some slight downticks in the coming week.
