China's domestic
stainless steel market has been mostly stable in the past week, though a few slight downticks in prices have also been observed.
Global nickel prices have continued their fluctuating trend, with prices lower compared to one week ago. On January 13, the three-month nickel price at the London Metal Exchange (LME) closed at $14,650/mt, while LME nickel inventory on the same date totaled 416,436 mt.
The Chinese domestic
stainless market has moved on a relatively stable trend in the past week compared to nickel prices, with slight declines only being seen for some 304 series products. Overall trading actlivity is fairly low as the Chinese New Year holiday approaches, with small traders focusing on accounting issues and on collecting cash. It is believed that domestic
stainless steel prices may just indicate small fluctuations in the week ahead.
