Slab export prices rising in Brazil

Brazil exported in November 446,000 mt of slabs, 16 percent more than in October, at an average FOB price reduced by 2.9 percent to $330/mt.
 
The recently inaugurated CSP exported 158,300 mt at $315/mt, ArcelorMittal Tubarao 168,500 mt at $330/mt and ThyssenKrupp CSA 119,200 mt at $352/mt, all FOB conditions with price deals probably closed in September.
 
Asia was the top destination (134,400 mt), followed by the US (121,200 mt), the EU (90,700 mt), Mexico (40,700 mt), Turkey (30,900 mt) and Canada (28,100 mt).
 
Different sources linked to slab producers gave varying information to SteelOrbis regarding current prices: one said slab of the basic commercial grade is now traded at $400/mt, against $390/mt last week, while another source mentioned $380/mt, against $370/mt last week, all FOB conditions.
