Chinese steelmaker Shagang Group (Shagang) has issued new flat steel sales prices for April shipment. The details are as follows (all comparisons being with prices for March shipment):
1. Hot rolled (HR)
The prices of all hot rolled products have declined by RMB 300/mt ($48/mt). As a result, the prices of Q235 5.5 mm x 1,500 mm hot rolled coil (HRC) is now standing at RMB 4,000/mt ($639/mt), with an additional RMB 150/mt ($24/mt) for low alloy hot rolled coil of the same specification. Meanwhile, the prices of SPHC have declined by RMB 300/mt ($48/mt), with the price of 3.0 mm x 1,250 mm SPHC grade material standing at RMB 4,040/mt ($645/mt).
2. Steel plates
The prices of common carbon steel medium plates have decreased by RMB 200/mt ($32/mt). Accordingly, the price of Q235 14-20 mm x 2,000 mm steel plate has decreased to RMB 3,980/mt ($636/mt).
All the above prices are ex-works, exclude 17 percent VAT, and are effective as of April 1, 2013.
