Shagang Group ups HRC price, cuts medium plate price for early May

Jiangsu Province-based Chinese steelmaker Shagang Group has announced adjustments to its ex-mill flat steel prices, effective for early May (May 1-10). The details are as follows (comparisons being with prices for late April):

Hot rolled coil prices have been increased by RMB 100/mt ($15/mt). Thus, the price of 5.5 x 1,250 mm Q235 hot rolled coil is standing at RMB 4,950/mt ($760/mt), while the list price of 5.5 x 1,250 mm SPHC hot rolled coil is now RMB 4,980/mt (764/mt).
 
The price of medium plate has been reduced by RMB 100/mt ($15/mt). As a result, the new sales price of 14-20 mm Q235 medium plate is RMB 5,100/mt (783/mt).

All the above prices are ex-mill, include tax and are effective from May 1.
