Quiet demand in Vietnamese flat steel market

SteelOrbis has been informed that prices in the Vietnamese flat steel market have remained unchanged over the past month, while demand has been quiet. Stock levels have declined in the Vietnamese flat steel market, while transactions have been concluded only for small tonnages in the past week. Market sources report that most Vietnamese importers are confused by the new import regulations.
 
Hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in the Vietnamese domestic market stand at VND 12,400-12,450/kg ($584-586/mt) ex-warehouse, while cold rolled coil (CRC) prices are at VND 15,300-15,400/kg ($720-725/mt) ex-works, both indicating no change over the past two weeks. Meanwhile, prices of rerolling quality HRC of 2 mm thickness have remained in the range of VND 13,000-13,150/kg ($612-619/mt) ex-warehouse.
 
On the other hand, Chinese offers to Vietnam have decreased by $6/mt over the past two week and are at $512-518/mt CFR for HRC, while Chinese offers for rerolling quality HRC of 2 mm thickness stand at $535-537/mt CFR for, increasing by $4/mt during the same period.
