Demand in the local Turkish hot dip galvanized (HDG) market has remained slack in the past week, just like in the previous week, while prices have increased by $7.5/mt on average, in line with last week’s increase of $25/mt in hot rolled coil (HRC) prices - the raw material for HDG production. However, buyers are still maintaining a wait-and-see stance and they are only concluding deals to meet their immediate needs.
Meanwhile, HDG prices in the local Turkish market for April production are currently as follows:
Product | Price ($/mt) | Change ($/mt) |
HDG 0.50 mm 100gr/m² | 630-660 | ↑7,5 |
HDG 1 mm 100gr/m² | 570-580 | ↑7,5 |
HDG 2 mm 100gr/m² | 540-545 | ↑7,5 |
The above prices, which may differ depending on product quality, are ex-works, exclude VAT, and are for advance payments.
Meanwhile, demand for Turkish HDG in the export markets is also on the low side, while Turkish suppliers’ HDG export price range has narrowed. Accordingly, Turkish HDG export prices have increased by $30/mt on the upper end and have declined by $10/mt on the lower end week on week to the range of $630-640/mt FOB, for April production.
