SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that local prices in the Spanish flat steel market, where demand is at moderate levels, have increased by €5-10/mt ($7-14/mt) as compared to the pre-New Year holiday period, while import offers to Spain have also moved up, rising by €10/mt over the same period.
Accordingly, hot rolled coil (HRC) domestic prices in Spain are now standing at €460-470/mt ($626-639/mt), while domestic cold rolled coil (CRC) and local hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil prices are at €540-545/mt ($734-741/mt). All prices are ex-works and for March production.
On the other hand, import offers from Brazil, India, China and the Middle East to Spain for December rolling can be found at €475-485/mt ($646-660/mt) CIF for HRC, at €545-555/mt ($741-755/mt) CIF for CRC and at €505-515/mt ($687-700/mt) for hot rolled pickled and oiled (HR P&O) coil.
