Demand has remained weak in the Vietnamese flat steel market, while traders' local prices have followed a stable trend over the past two weeks. Meanwhile, market players are adopting a wait-and-see stance as ex-China offers have started to soften.
In the Vietnamese domestic market, hot rolled coil (HRC) prices are still at $620-630/mt ex-warehouse, while cold rolled coil (CRC) prices stand at $740-750/mt ex- warehouse. In the meantime, prices for rerolling quality 2 mm HRC prices are still being quoted at $640-650/mt ex-warehouse.
On the other hand, HRC offers from China to Vietnam have moved down by $5-10/mt as compared to two weeks ago to $620/mt CFR and it is heard that some deals have been concluded at $615/mt CFR. Meanwhile, South Korean and Japanese offer prices for rerolling quality 2 mm HRC are still at $670-685/mt CFR, indicating no changes over the same period.
