Price of Brazilian Galvalume exports declines again

Brazilian producers are currently negotiating Galvalume for export at $794/mt, FOB conditions, against $824/mt FOB late last month, a local exporter informed SteelOrbis.

According to the source, the $30/mt reduction aims at repositioning the price vis-à-vis international prices, reflecting an effort to increase sales in volume.

CSN and ArcelorMittal, licensed by BIEC to produce Galvalume in Brazil, are reportedly operating their crude steel plants at normal capacities, offering more feedstock to their rolling plants, resulting in more tonnages of finished products available for export.

Brazil exported 11,000 mt of Galvalume in September, at an average FOB price of $777/mt, with price deals probably closed in July.
