Demand in the Turkish pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) market has remained on the weak side since last week. However, the anticipated price increase for local PPGI products has been realized and prices have increased by $5/mt over the past week.
Turkish mills' local offers for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI are standing at $1,020-1,080/mt, while offers for RAL 9002 0.5 mm are at $880-930/mt and prices for RAL 9002 1 mm stand at $800-850/mt. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.
In the meantime, demand for Turkish PPGI exports has continued to increase. Ex-Turkey PPGI offers have also increased by $5/mt since last week to $865-925/mt FOB, for July production. Market sources report that the uptrend of hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil prices is the main reason for the increase in ex-Turkey PPGI prices.
